At the beginning of the year 2018, the various world automotive groups are struggling to figure out which will arrive first. And for 2017, it’s finally the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi group that wins!
The boss of the Franco-Japanese group, Carlos Ghosn, took the floor in January 2018 to announce a group sales record with more than 10.6 million vehicles sold. The group is thus ahead of Volkswagen and Toyota, according to him.
Already on the rise last year, the number of vehicles sold by Mitsubishi Motors in Canada has increased again to reach a historic record! With 22,706 vehicles sold in 2017, Mitsubishi achieved a1.9% increase in sales compared to 2016.
The sales of the two crossovers offered by the Japanese brand represent 63% of the group’s total sales. With 7,396 and 6973 units respectively, the Outlander and RVR were highly appreciated by Canadian drivers.
In 2018, Mitsubishi is still expected to have an increase in sales. With the arrival of two new models, the Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross, the record could fall again.
The Outlander PHEV should be THE most expected vehicle at Mitsubishi. Arriving at Saint-Léonard Mitsubishi in early 2018, it is the world’s best-known rechargeable hybrid SUV. Given the various features such as battery warranty or price, no doubt, the public will quickly fall under the spell.
In addition to these two new SUVs, Mitsubishi has everything to convince you in 2018! Enjoy the best manufacturer’s warranty on the market, the best prices, one of the best all-wheel drive systems in the world and much more.

Acquired by Renault-Nissan in 2016, Mitsubishi sees Carlos Ghosn take over as chairman of the board of directors of Mitsubishi on December 14 of the same year. The group sees Mitsubishi as an opportunity to take advantage of its all-wheel drive technology (one of the best on the market) and its progress in hybrid powertrain technology.
This also allows the group to focus on new markets such as Thailand and Indonesia.
